Salem, Oregon & Redwood Shores, California – The State of Oregon, Oracle America, Inc. and Oracle reseller Mythics, Inc. agreed today to a settlement of all the litigation surrounding the Oregon healthcare exchange, which includes dismissal with prejudice all litigation surrounding the Oregon healthcare exchange.
Under the settlement, Oracle will provide the State with an Unlimited License Agreement for specific Oracle software and related technical support for six years at no cost to Oregon, Oracle will enter into a pricing agreement to give the State guaranteed discounts for future purchases of Oracle software, Oracle is funding a $10 million “Oracle STEM Education Program” through the Oregon Community Foundation to fund Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) in Oregon schools, and Oracle will reimburse $25 million in Oregon’s legal fees.
“Today’s settlement agreement ends years of turmoil and taxpayer expense related to the troubled health exchange program I dissolved months ago,” Governor Brown said. “Since the demise of Cover Oregon, we have helped nearly 98 percent of Oregon children and 94 percent of adults obtain health care coverage – now, let’s focus on getting to 100 percent.”
“I want to thank the teams from Oregon and Oracle who have worked so hard to find a way to put this unfortunate episode behind us. This settlement outcome is a “win-win” for the people of Oregon—without the expense and continued impact on our collective psyche,” said Attorney General Rosenblum.
“We are pleased to have this contentious litigation behind us and to provide Oregon with the flexibility to obtain the software and technical support it desires to address the State’s needs over the next several years. We’re also proud of our continued focus on STEM education and the benefits it can provide to the communities in which we do business. This is an innovative resolution to a complex matter,” said Dorian Daley, Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
