– A Primer for Victim Service Program Managers
The Model Standards for Serving Victims and Survivors of Crime was recently updated to reflect emerging challenges faced by the victim service field. The Model Standards e-publication provides guidelines and suggestions to help victim service practitioners and program administrators improve the quality and consistency of their response to crime victims.
In this training, you will learn about the importance of the Model Standards to the field and to your organization, explore your organization’s capabilities to adopt the Model Standards, and develop a plan to integrate the Model Standards into your program policies, procedures, and program activities.
The training is intended for victim service program managers and will be delivered online, over the course of 4 weeks, beginning on May 29. Each week, except for the introductory week, will include a facilitated webinar. The webinars are 75 minutes long and you can expect to spend an additional hour on assignments and readings. Like all of OVC TTAC trainings, there is no cost to participate.
All webinars are conducted from 11:30 a.m – 12:45 p.m. (eastern time). The sessions are recorded, so if you are unable to participate in the live webinar, you will be able to listen to the recording.
Introductory Week: Introduction to the Model Standards, May 29–June 1, no webinar.
Week 1: What are the Model Standards? June 4–8, webinar on June 7.
Week 2: Exploring How the Model Standards Align with Your Organization’s Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures, June 11–15, webinar on June 14.
