Register now for SATF’s annual campus investigator training, sponsored by Clackamas Community College. This training will include two distinct tracks for campus investigators, student conduct process advisors, and other practitioners. This training meets campus investigator annual training requirements. All participants will receive a workbook, certificate of completion and supporting training materials. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
Coordinating and Conducting Comprehensive Investigations Track: Participants will be able to investigate complaints, interview parties, and write reports while understanding the requirements of Title IX as well as the foundational elements of sexual assault dynamics, perpetrator dynamics, and how trauma affects memory and victim reactions. This track is ideal for investigators new to Oregon or to the campus context, Title IX Coordinators, campus-based advocates, and other professionals who work with campus investigation processes.
Interviewing and Documentation Intensive Track: Rooted in the foundational elements of sexual assault dynamics, perpetrator dynamics, and trauma-informed best practices, investigators will gain cutting edge skills and tools to lead trauma-informed interviews with complainants, respondents and witnesses based on techniques used by law enforcement and the military. This track is ideal for seasoned campus investigators with a solid understanding of Title IX and Oregon-specific campus dynamics, and who want to delve deep into the specific skills of interviewing and documentation.

Optional Add-on: Simultaneous Counterclaims Training

Is your campus prepared to respond equitably and supportively if two students report assault or harassment implicating each other as respondents? This optional add-on half-day training will equip investigators, Title IX coordinators, advocates, and other campus practitioners to respond to simultaneous counterclaims on campus.
You’ll gain skills in:
- Advanced exploration of power dynamics
- Best practices in policies and procedures to address simultaneous counterclaims
- Case study
What you’ll walk away with: An understanding of how your campus can respond in an ethical, equitable, and trauma-informed manner to simultaneous counterclaims, including tools to incorporate into investigations and response procedures.
