Child Support Services for Tribal Families
The Oregon Child Support Program works with Oregon’s Native American Tribes to enhance child support services for Tribal families. There are nine federally-recognized American Indian Tribes in Oregon. Each is an independent sovereign government with status similar to other states or foreign nations.
Tribal Liaisons with the Oregon Child Support Program work with each Oregon Tribe to help:
- provide technical assistance and training to both Child Support Program and Tribal staff.
- promote Tribal TANF and Tribal IV-D (child support) programs.
- assist in the development of Tribal-specific child support policies and procedures.
